Peter Miles


Peter Miles on 29th September 1980 in Entebbe, Uganda to a musical family. His career as an African dancehall artist started in 1994 when he was just 14 years old. Over the years he earned his reputation as being of of Africa’s biggest dancehall sensations. He has collaborated with Jamaican artists like Elephant Man Demarco, Mr Chicken and Spice. He has also worked with General Levy of the incredible fame from London and 2 Face Idibia from Nigeria and more… Peter Miles records in his home based Road Block studio and at Talent Africa Studio in Uganda. He writes and produces his own music. His music is a blend of Ragga, Reggae and dancehall with a local African feel.

Peter Miles has shared stage with many acclaimed stars like Shaggy, R Kelly, Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, T.O.K., Buju Banton, Kevin Little, Brick and Lace, Assasin, Beenie Man, Elephant man and many more…… He has performed in various cities around Africa and Europe and the U.S.A. Peter Miles is one of the pioneer artists in Africa selected to feature on MTV base Africa and was selected to perform at the channel’s launch in Uganda.

He has won various awards in Africa including…

  • Best Ragga artist/group PAM AWARDS for 2 years (UGANDA)-(2006-2007)-(2007-2008)
  • Best Ragga dancehall video Channel O awards (SOUTH AFRICA)-(2007-2008)
  • Best dancehall video Kisima awards (KENYA)-(2004-2005)

In 2007, Peter Miles was the only artist from East and central Africa selected to perform at the anti G8 summit Concert code named the “P8 concert” in Germany along side other big European bands like U2, Bono, Youssou N’dour, Bob Geldof, Seed, and many more, his performance act was one of the few that were selected to air on Germany’s biggest TV station ARD at prime time.. Peter Miles is currently endorsed and signed to phone company Motorola as their brand ambassador in Uganda.

His last 2 hits “Blessings” featuring Demarco and “Nice and Polite” featuring Elephant Man have enjoyed massive airplay across Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.

Growing up in the Harlem – Heights section of Manhattan, from the age of 9, Spin learned how to play several instruments including the saxophone, violin and trumpet.

Spin got the name Spin Easy from his days as a professional break-dancer / b-boy. He was featured in films, music videos and TV commercials, including participating in the battle scene for the original Hip-Hop movie “Beat Street” at the Roxy roller-skating rink.

Spin currently splits his time between NYC and Australia, touring 80 to 100+ shows per year across the globe. Spin is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
